Why is it, do you suppose, that inspiration and flowing water so often are linked? We talk about fountains of ideas, inspiration “like a bursting dam”. The comparisons seem apt, but it’s such a hard thing to talk about. I’m an engineer, I get uncomfortable trying to describe things that intangible — I wind up waving my hands a lot and saying, “You see what I mean, right?”
